Two Brahmas Move On to the Next Level
May 20, 2026
Two Brahmas are set to continue their athletic careers at four-year programs, with baseball's Jeremiah "Jeremy" Jones heading to Fresno State and football's John "JD" Gilbert moving on to Arkansas Tech.
Jones was a key piece for Pierce baseball this season, playing in 45 games and finishing with 61 hits, 43 runs, seven doubles, one triple, six home runs, and 36 RBIs. His production helped the Brahmas put together a strong season and postseason run.
Gilbert served as one of the leaders for Pierce football, earning a captain role while contributing on both sides of the ball. As a running back and linebacker, Gilbert brought a physical presence to the Brahmas, rushing for tough yards offensively while also making an impact defensively. In one of Pierce's early-season games, he rushed for 46 yards and recorded seven tackles, showing the two-way effort he brought to the program.
Jones received a first-team All-Conference Honor, while Gilbert received a second-team All-Conference honor this last season.
Pierce Athletics congratulates Jones and Gilbert and wishes them the best as they continue their academic and athletic careers at Fresno State and Arkansas Tech.
