Brahmas Honor Sophomores in Final Home Game of the Season
The Pierce College football team closed out its 2025 home schedule on Sophomore Day at Shepard Stadium, where the program honored its sophomore student-athletes and their families for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to Brahma Football.
Despite falling 55–7 to West Los Angeles College, the day carried a meaningful tone as the Brahmas recognized players who have represented Pierce both on the field and in the classroom.
Quarterback Roman Rough connected with Mark Wilson for a five-yard touchdown pass midway through the second quarter, capping a 10-play, 43-yard drive that marked Pierce's lone score of the afternoon.
Rough completed 10 of 21 passes for 74 yards and added the team's only extra point, while Wilson finished as the team's top offensive contributor with five catches for 34 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, Micah Volavola led the Brahmas with five total tackles. Isaiah Castro and Dayawn Brown each recorded interceptions for Pierce, helping slow West LA's offensive rhythm in spurts.
Brahmas' defensive unit fought hard, forcing several third-down situations and showing resilience through physical play in front of their home crowd.
Saturday's game also served as a moment of reflection and celebration. Before kickoff, Pierce College honored its departing sophomores and their families for their dedication and perseverance through the program's continued rebuilding phase.
The Brahmas now turn their attention to the final week of the regular season as they look to close out strong on the road.
