The LA Pierce College Men's Soccer team secured a hard-fought 3-2 away victory over Victor Valley this past Tuesday, powered by a standout performance from sophomore forward Diego Monreal, who scored two goals.
Monreal has now scored four goals in his last two games, continuing his impressive run.
Things didn't begin smoothly for the Brahmas, as they were down within a minute of gameplay. However, freshman Ousseynou Diop equalized two minutes later, for his second goal of the season. It was a tightly contested match throughout. The score was knotted at 1-1 before Pierce took a 2-1 lead. Victor Valley responded to level the match again, but Monreal stepped up late to deliver the game-winning goal.
With this win, Pierce builds momentum heading into a crucial part of the season. They'll host East LA on Friday, October 3, at 7 p.m. before shifting focus to conference play.
