LA Pierce men's volleyball strongly opened its season, sweeping Irvine Valley College in straight sets (25-23, 25-21, 25-23) on January 28 at Ken Stanley Court. The Brahmas controlled the tempo throughout the match, and were especially efficient in the opening and closing sets, hitting .276 in the first and .324 in the third to seal the sweep.
Marcus De Vera led the Brahmas offensively with nine kills on just two total attacks, finishing with a team-high 10 points. Lorenzo Gonzalez added eight kills, while Ryder Tafoya chipped in five to help balance the Pierce attack. Setter Ronaldo Zayas distributed the offense effectively, recording eight assists. Defensively, Pierce finished with 14 digs and limited Irvine Valley's momentum in all three sets.
