The Pierce College women's volleyball team kicked off its 2025 season with an impressive straight-set sweep over Los Angeles City College (25-19, 25-13, 25-19), earning its first win under new head coach Joseph Arechiga.
Outside Hitter Caylin Norwood led the way with 21 assists and added 8 kills, while freshman Valerie Lopez tallied a match-high 28 assists and 9 kills of her own. Sophomore Paris Fruge also made a strong debut, contributing 6 kills and 9 assists in a balanced and energetic team performance.
The Brahmas showed a renewed energy and cohesion that was often missing last season, and while it's only one game, the difference under Coach Arechiga is already clear. With a strong start and a growing sense of confidence, the team looks ready to rewrite the story this year.
 Next Home Game:
The Brahmas return to Shepard Gym on Wednesday, September 17, when they take on West LA College. First serve is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
